e. thomas -- grifter he money we earned ($3.15 an hour)
barely paid for the gas it took to drive to work,
so we (well, not me, ahem, specifically, you know),
ran various scams to pad our salary:
failed to ring up tickets and pocketed
the money, "wasted" candy,
allowed all our friends into the theater for free.
This extra dough allowed us to supplement our diet of
free popcorn and courtesy cups of coke.
Invariably, someone was sent to McDonalds or we got waffle cones.
Our skin was broken, we jiggled when we walked.
Total happiness.
